Danielle Merry - Weighbridge Supervisor Cliffe Hill

I joined MQP in 2014, after 5 years of working in the beauty industry I felt it was time for a change. I started in the position of Weighbridge Clerk at Cliffe Hill, it was a job I had never dreamed I would end up doing, I thought quarries were for men. The weighbridge is at the centre of all operations and involves dealing with people from the distribution office, plant and hauliers. The job can be busy and challenging and definitely keeps you on your toes. I have had the opportunity to work all over the Midlands at our various sites.

After 3 years in the position of Weighbridge Clerk, an opportunity arose for me to progress within the company and I am now the Weighbridge Supervisor at Cliffe Hill. I really enjoy my job, I like solving problems, dealing with people from all different backgrounds and coming up with new ideas to make our service even better. A big part of my job requires me to have good working relationships with both the plant staff and the distribution office.

I have undergone plenty of training during my time at MQP. This has ranged from first aid training, interviewing and recruitment training and performance training, all to help me progress further in the business. I have recently been enrolled onto a Creating Managers training programme and I am looking forward to learning new skills to help me in my career.

MQP is a great company to work for, I am proof that they believe in training and developing individuals. I get plenty of support from my Manager, he’s helped me a great deal in making the transition to supervisor.
