MQP assists Scouts with less bumpy ride to campsite!
Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from all over the County will have a far less bumpy ride getting to base at Willesley Scout campsite, thanks to MQP.
Some 16 Scout groups, around 1,000 children from the Ashby and Coalville Leicestershire Scouts, as well as hundreds countrywide, regularly use the campsite near Ashby in Leicestershire, and will now arrive at site no longer feeling car sick.
"The long drive leading up to the campsite was in a shocking state," said Duncan Watts, District Commissioner of Ashby and Coalville Leicestershire Scouts.
"Some parents had to get their cars in for wheel alignment when venturing down the drive leading to the camp".
"MQP offered assistance with resurfacing the drive and we are absolutely in awe of what the team has achieved, they were fantastic and we are so grateful for their free time and assistance with materials. The driveway is also shared with the local golf and fishing clubs so they will benefit enormously too. As the drive is so smooth, eggs are now back on the camp menu!"
Richard Nevin, MQP's Cliffe Hill Quarry Manager and fellow Scout said "We were very pleased to assist. We supplied 100 tonnes of fill material along with a JCB for a couple of days."
